LONELY WALK

Title: LONELY WALK (1 & 2)

Sequel: WALK IN THE DARK  (1 & 2)

Starring:  Mercy Johnson, Van Vicker

Synopsis:

A man and woman, both marred to estranged spouses, take comfort in each other after a chance meeting on a lonely road.

Review:

Joel (Van Vicker) was right on time to save Adora (Mercy Johnson) who was having car trouble on a deserted road. As he gave her a ride to her destination, they were car jacked.  Stranded, they had no choice but to walk until they booked a hotel room for the night.

Brought together at time when they were both suffering personal losses, they found solace  in each other…lots of it.  But they were both legally married to other people who were likely to appear at any moment.

“Walk in the Dark” is the sequel and this part of the story focused on the return of George,  Adora’s husband, who had disappeared for six years.

Let’s Talk. This movie was longwinded and practically two stories in one. Part one offered a chance at romance between two strangers and the sequel put a monkey wrench in it.

Adora (Mercy Johnson) took her husband back instead after he disappeared for six years instead of staying with Joel. Now that is loyalty…well, on her part.

But as usual drama came into play and Adora found herself pregnant for Joel.  Her husband went ballistic when he learned the news and angrily threw her out of the house. Was Adora really supposed to be loyal to a man who hadn’t called in six years? Really? Why didn’t she ask him if HE found another woman during his six year absence? This is some of the dialogue that was missing from the story.

One of the things that’s great about this movie was the opportunity  the older actors were given to shine. They were all believable as parents, especially Pete Edochie and Ngozi Ezeonu.

As for performances, Van Vicker and Mercy Johnson had good chemistry together and they did justice to their roles.

Overall, this was a good story about two strangers who met on a lonely road.  It was preachy at times but effective. It reminds us that we can all walk in the light if we have faith.  RECOMMEND
