Title: A PRIVATE STORM (1 – 3)
Starring: Ramsey Nouah, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, John Dumelo
Synopsis:
A woman puts up with an abusive relationship while pretending she’s found the perfect man.
Review:
Alex (Nouah Ramsey) had lost all control. Unable to tame his jealousy and anger, every man was suspect when it came to his girlfriend, Gina (Omotola Jalade Ekeinde). He continuously manipulated Gina to stay in the relationship by showering her with expensive “apology” gifts.
When it came to friends, Gina kept up appearances and pretended she found the man of her dreams. Meanwhile, in the subplot, Jason (John Dumelo) wasn’t ready to settle down and gallivanted in a casual relationships – that is until he met Gina.
Let’s Talk. This film tackled domestic abuse and Nouah and Omotola were powerful in their roles. However, the movie dragged in certain areas. By part 3 Alex and Gina were still in the same place of their relationship (sigh).
Jason (John Dumelo) didn’t actually meet Gina until somewhere near the middle of part 3, which took too long. As for Dumelo fans, we needed to see more of him.
What’s great about this movie is that women, battered or not, will be able to relate to Gina. Through Gina we saw the excuses women make, that need to hold on to a man, the gifts that melt women, and women’s insecurities.
As for men, hopefully, they will take note of Alex’s mistakes. He must have said, “I’m sorry” about a hundred times in this movie.
Overall, there are some really funny, laugh-out-loud moments which, made flaws forgivable. RECOMMEND
