Title: AMEN (1 & 2)
Starring: Baby Blanche, Roselyn Ngissah, Fred Amugi
Synopsis:
A young actress marries a pastor after he convinces her that her ex-fiance wasn’t the right man for her but later finds herself in a precarious situation when the pastor is found dead.
Review:
Dzifa (Baby Blanche) was three weeks pregnant and engaged to her fiancé, Yaw (Pages Sefah-Bonsu). Looking forward to a life together, they sought a pastors advise on marriage.
The pastor was attracted to Dzifa and arranged separate “counseling” meetings with them. During the individual sessions he manipulated them against each other and then convinced Dzifa to marry him and not her fiance.
In life, you reap what you sow and this saying proved true for the pastor.
Let’s Talk. This is basically a crazy story gone wild. What’s unusual about it is that an older man, gray hair and all, pulled the strings in the story. Funny!
As for comments, for the pastor to convince a woman who was engaged and pregnant for someone else, to have an abortion and marry him instead, a man waaay older, was far fetched. Not to mention that fact that the woman was a pretty movie actress who likely had her share of suitors more her own age.
Clearly Dzifa married the pastor on the rebound and thank God there were no love scenes with them. But any issues with the story are forgiven because the rest of the movie was great.
In terms of performances, it’s a small cast and the acting was on par however, Roslyn Ngissah was the stand out. She was excellent playing this role.
Overall, “Amen” is a well-executed film and has no scenes that drag on forever. It’s fast paced and gets to the point. Halleluiah. RECOMMEND
