Title: BLACKMAIL (1 – 3)

Starring: Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Kofi Adjorlolo, Biola Ige

Synopsis:

A male employee is sexually harassed by a female superior and when he rejected her advances, his tenure at the company became a question.

Review:

James (Kofi Adjorlolo) is a wealthy business owner who had a history of marrying the wrong women. He recently married Lavida (Biola Ige), a younger, beautiful woman, that he instantly named Managing Director of his company.

Lavida used her newfound power to promote Henry (John Dumelo) to the Board of Directors, an advancement that he wasn’t expecting. But Henry’s job was suddenly in jeopardy when an acquisition he was in charge of was mysteriously marred with illegal transactions and forged documents.

He was innocent of any wrongdoing but Lavida let him know that she could make it all go away…in exchange for a very personal favor.

Let’s Talk. This was an intriguing twist of love, power, and office politics. John Dumelo played Henry, a man that loved his wife but slipped up with the wrong woman. Lavida was obsessed with him and refused to let go.

The movie was ripe with drama and engrossing. One comment; if someone was hit by a car in the morning, how likely is it that they would show up for work in the afternoon? Even if the person wasn’t hurt, it is very likely that they would call their office and say “hey, I was hit by a car this morning. I’m still a bit shaken up” and then take the day off. For Nicki (Jackie Appiah) to come to work right after she was hit by a car was unfathomable.

Performances? Decent.

“Blackmail” is a fairly good flick that ‘s captivating from beginning to end. RECOMMEND

  • The plot of Blackmail is its hero and it manages to strike a good balance between dark and funny. Characters are bumped off, sometimes in most gory detail and strange events unfold, but the film never loses its vein of easy, black humour.
