Title: CAGED (1 & 2)
Sequel: NONE
Starring: JJ Bunny, Desmond Elliott, Rex Otuka
Synopsis:
A young woman that was constantly abused by her husband found success as a recording artist which, gave her the courage to leave him.
Review:
Prince (Rex Otuka) married and relocated Joy (JJ Bunny) to the US from Africa for a better life. It was anything but. Joy had to abide by his rules, cook and clean, and wasn’t allowed to leave the house.
She bumped into Tony (Desmond Elliott), a record producer who lived down the street from her. With some practice he turned her into an artist and she not only achieved success but she also left the abusive Tony behind.
Part two of this movie is cleverly titled “Uncaged” as Joy was now free of the abuse and got a taste of a life of luxury. She transformed into a diva that smoked, drank booze, and slept around. She was on the verge of ruining her career and it was up to Tony to help turn her life around.
Let’s Talk. This is JJ Bunny’s first movie under the JJ Bunny Productions umbrella. She did a decent job and the cinematography and sound were good.
As for the story, we’ve seen tons of abusive relationships so it was nothing new. The drama does have a dose of fairytale involved but it’s a testament to women that success is the best revenge. Judging from this movie, success also reveals people’s true colors.
