Starring: Lilian Esoro, Enyinna Nwigwe, Ademola Adedoyin, Kiki Omeili, Okey Uzoeshi, Adesua Etomi
Synopsis:
Three couples plan a weekend getaway that fortuitously exposes secrets, lies, and infidelity.
Review:
Cynthia and Jude (Lilian Esori & Enyinna Nwigwe) were stuck in a stale marriage. He was a good provider but that equated to a busy schedule and a phone stuck to his ear. Cynthia felt neglected and making matters worse was Jude’s pretty office assistant who she believed he was having an affair with.
The second couple, Joke and Lanre (Kiki Omeilli & Ademola Adedoyin) appeared to have bedroom and financial issues but there was more beneath the surface. Lastly, Dan and Nina (Okey Uzoeshi & Adesua Etomi) were still at the honeymoon stage but it was short-lived.
Let’s Talk. This is another drama that focused on problematic relationships. The topics ranged from financial issues, infidelity, and there was even a secret love child. The problem here was that we had to wait over an hour for a plot point.
The movie floated around and seemed to double as a sightseeing tour of Ibadan. The couples visited various locations which was nice to see but it didn’t propel the story any. Finally, at about an hour and five minutes in, we finally saw a forbidden kiss that launched the dirty laundry among the couples.
The banter between the men and women didn’t offer anything new or exciting. Some of it was funny but nothing to write home about. If a writer doesn’t offer anything fresh or humorous then the story should be tight, right? Not the case here. Furthermore, it had a tragic ending that I didn’t quite understand. What was the point? It was probably supposed to be the plot twist but it wasn’t the best decision.
What worked was the casting. The couples were actually believable and their chemistry seemed genuine. The acting was also satisfactory and there were some worthy emotional moments from the characters.
The movie reiterates that no marriage is perfect and there comes a time when relationships actually require work. Sometimes love isn’t enough and couples often have to decide whether to stay or divorce. But we knew this already…
Audio and video sufficed.
The bottom line? This movie had a feeble plot that required better direction. See “3 is a Crowd” for a better version of this genre. EJECT

Well said. I share the same sentiments. I felt like I was watching a Tyler Perry movie. Even in this Perry move one of the couples dies in the end. Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing with adapting a movie but you have to add something fresh to it. Add Nigeria to it, I did not see that except for the presence of a gateman. Add some humor as you have said. I felt spiraled for nothing. But I loved the actors. They nailed and gave their characters.
Pls I want to know the hotel they stayed at ibadan
