Starring: Jackie Appiah, Jose Tolbert, Afia Addo, Prince Darlington
Synopsis:
After three years, a young couple’s marriage is in hot water but a near fatal accident propels a reconciliation.
Review:
Keisha and Mike’s hostile marriage was on the brink of collapse. They were childless and as far as Keisha (Jackie Appiah) was concerned it was Mike’s (Jose Tolbert) fault. She suspected he was cheating and ultimately concluded that there was no financial or emotional benefits to the marriage.
When Mike’s cousin came to stay with them they put on a united front and pretended to be happily married. But that didn’t last long and they were back to constant arguments until an accident threw them for a loop.
Let’s Talk. Another relationship drama from Director, Pascal Amanfo. It aimed to be a romantic comedy, and admittedly there were some humorous moments, but for the most part it rates a “D+” for laughs.
It’s great that Pascal Amanfo can find the humor in problematic relationships but in how many more ways can relationship drama be told? I guess he’ll answer that question with his next movie.
The truth is this drama was nothing special or profound. It featured two couples in relationship stalemate and then the filmmakers figured “happily ever after” was the best conclusion. The only thing different was that the main couple worked out their differences in the spirit world instead of here on earth.
Once again, we had to see Jose Tolbert on the toilet. His fit physique may have been eye candy for some but that’s until he farted. Farting is neither attractive or enticing and it was obvious the sound was added to the scene which, ultimately detracted from it’s authenticity and humor.
Performances sufficed but I think Jackie Appiah needs a blockbuster movie. Granted, I haven’t seen everything she’s in but from what I’ve seen of late, she’s been in some pretty harebrained movies and I think she’s capable of better.
Video quality was satisfactory and the sound was notably worked on but it wasn’t aligned with the video in some scenes.
Overall, this is prototypical Pascal Amanfo relationship rigmarole. If you’ve seen any of his romantic dramas then there’s no need to see this one. EJECT
