Title: KEEPING SECRET (Full Story)
Starring: Ebele Okaro, Frederick Leonard, Belinda Effah
Synopsis:
The discovery of a woman’s abandoned daughter leads to the exposure of hidden agendas.
Review:
Nneka (Ebele Okaro) was diagnosed with cancer. She thought she was at death’s door when she asked her husband, Frank, to find the daughter that she relinquished at birth. Frank (Fredrick Leonard) was significantly younger than she was and he was unaware that she had a child. Nonetheless, he agreed to the request of his dying wife.
The back-story was that Nneka got pregnant when she was young and her boyfriend abandoned her. She wasn’t in a position to care for a baby so she left her daughter on a neighbor’s doorstep and went on with her life.
Cut to the present, her daughter was of adult age and thought her adoptive parents were her biological parents. Nneka hadn’t seen her since birth and didn’t know what to expect so on that note, Frank paid a woman to pretend she was Nneka’s daughter.
The heart of the story was that Frank stood to inherit millions as Nneka’s only beneficiary. With Nneka’s daughter in the picture he figured he would have to share the assets so he hired an imposter to cut some of his losses. Together, the two carried out their agenda until the truth dismantled their game.
Let’s Talk. Yawn…another movie about killing the wealthy to inherit money. We’ve seen this storyline a million times and there was nothing remotely unique or interesting about this one.
The basis of the story was actually silly because Frank would have had to share the assets regardless – either with his girlfriend or with Nneka’s daughter. In either case, he wasn’t going to inherit one hundred percent of the pie so why go through the motions? Any money he acquired would have been more than he deserved.
The movie suffered from a lot of back-story and flashbacks. There was quite a bit of shifting between the past and the present, which got annoying. Also, the fact that Nneka’s real daughter was so easily accessible was too convenient.
The only engaging aspect regarded the life of Nneka’s daughter. The man she believed was her biological father, raped her. Once again, we had a situation where the wife had no idea of her husbands cheating ways. Nneka’s daughter lived a rough life thanks to Nneka’s decision to abandon her.
Performances? No complaints. The line up was pretty talented with the likes of Ebele Okaro, Frederick Leonard, and Belinda Effah; it’s the story that was inept and lacked creativity.
The movie ended on a note of forgiveness, which is always inspiring, but the truth of the matter is that this is another recycled movie. EJECT

This is a complete copycat of American’s Hallmark movie ‘TRUE CONFESSION’.
The exact story. Go check that movie. (but the hallmark movie was thrilling & classic)
Hi Cee, I haven’t see the Hallmark movie but I wouldn’t at all be surprised if it was copied. Happens all the time.
