Review:
The story revolves around three women and their cheating husbands. Grace (Uche Jombo) suspected her husband was cheating and she had an idea of how he could make good. Her friend, Jackie (Keira Hewatch), a meddler, had to resort to minding her own business when she witnessed her husband with another woman.
The third woman, Annabel (Bayray McNwizu), unexpectedly learned of her husband’s disloyalty in the worst way – through a medical exam.
The main storyline was about the theft of Emeka’s (Desmond Elliott) car. It was stolen while he was in a motel cheating and he later lied to his wife about his whereabouts.
Let’s Talk. “Lies Men Tell” is a “dramedy” that explores the obvious. While Grace and Emeka were building their dream home, Emeka used a nearby motel to sleep with women.
The ongoing bickering between the two was often funny. Their relationship was far from warm and fuzzy but it’s the meals with the children, which displayed a sense of family, that made it clear why Grace and Emeka were still together.
Evidently, Emeka had no intentions of leaving his wife. He made it clear to each woman that he slept with that sex with him was a “one-time deal” and this eliminated any chance of a relationship. By the way, “repeat sex” was strictly for his wife. Lol.
The underlying message here is that extramarital sex, regardless of the reason, is a bad idea. Grace’s philosophy was that men should pay a price anytime that they disrespect the relationship. Based on this premise she demanded 9.5 million from Emeka. They argued and even talked divorce but Emeka eventually conceded.
What’s commendable is that Grace didn’t buckle to the lame excuses women make about cheating husbands and she made sure Emeka suffered the consequences for his actions.
Performances? Fabulous. Desmond Elliott dunned the character of Emeka and was an absolute riot. He effortlessly offered humor in a tense marriage. Uche Jombo held her own playing the tolerant wife that outsmarted her cheating husband.
The supporting cast definitely sufficed making “Lies Men Tell” a blast…and that’s the truth. RECOMMEND

Hi Rea, it seems that the pickings are slim everywhere. Still an entertaining movie though.
Does anyone know the name of the song playing during the end credits? I can’t find it anywhere 🙁
