Starring: Adjetey Anang, Chris Attoh, Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong, Brew Riverson
Synopsis:
Male bonding reaches its peak when four friends share the spirals of life.
Review:
Jerry (Adjetey Anang) is a doctor that copes with the secret that he once dated his best friend’s wife. They still harbored feelings for each other but the damage was already done.
Ray (Chris Attoh), a dance instructor, only dated married women – that is until he took an interest in Jerry’s younger sister, Laila (Deconte Thompson). Naturally, Jerry was protective and didn’t want his sister hurt by the womanizing Ray.
Kente (Brew Riverson) battled with Erica (Selima Adudu), who’s his ex-girlfriend that married someone else. He’s a broke musician and wanted visitation rights of their son. His uncle hooked him up with an attorney that just happened to work for the same firm as Erica’s new husband. Her husband got wind of the case and tried to pull some strings to get it dropped but a skeleton in Erica’s closet drove the case in another direction.
Lastly, there’s Ato (Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong) who worked as an advertising executive. He wasn’t supportive of his wife having a career and unbeknownst to her, he was screwing his secretary.
Let’s Talk. This is a drama that centers on four friends. They each had different perceptions of life but they still bonded at the core.
The movie can be best described as mainstream because just about anyone can relate to these characters. The dialogue was sharp and it’s the banter between the men that was humorous and interesting.
There were excellent topics that were raised in this film: 1) The professional woman dating the struggling man. Can it work? 2) Dating your friend’s sibling – taboo or acceptable? 3) A woman’s place in life – is it n the kitchen or the boardroom?
Casting, direction, and performances were good. Video and sound also sufficed.
This movie was certainly captivating but there are two questionable items: Chris Attoh a dancer? Funny. Brew Riverson a singer? Right. 🙂
More often than not movies display friendships between females so it was refreshing to see men relate. RECOMMEND
