Starring: Tonto Dikeh, John Dumelo, Jibola Dabo, Biola Ige
Synopsis:
A woman is forced into an unhealthy marriage when her father offers her to his boss in lieu of a debt.
Review:
Joe (Ashily Nwaosu) was caught on camera stealing at his work place. Sir Rufus (Jibola Dabo), his boss, was adamant about the stolen money being repaid. He held Joe overnight in a jail cell and reprimanded him.
When Joe didn’t show up at home, Rose (Tonto Dikeh), his daughter, appeared at his job in search of him. This was when she met Sir Rufus for the first time. He was instantly attracted to her and saw the young and pretty Rose as wife material. Rufus decided to forego the money Joe owed him in exchange for a wedding to his daughter.
Not so fast. Rose had a boyfriend and vowed never to marry Sir Rufus. Unfortunately, her father made the arrangements and she was forced into the marriage. Committed to a man that was old enough to be her father, Rose had to succumb to his freaky and abusive sexual desires.
Meanwhile, Michael (John Dumelo) Rose’s ex-boyfriend, drowned his sorrows in the bottle and slept with another woman that he fantasized to be her. The woman wound up pregnant and it seemed to seal the end of Rose and Michael but after bloodshed, murder, and surprises, Rose and Michael miraculously realized their love again.
Let’s Talk. “My Fantasy” is drama at it’s finest and is not for the prude. It is referred to as soft porn due to its graphic sex scenes. The shock value here reached its peak and may leave some picking their jaws up off the floor. If you find these types of scenes offensive, please note that Nolly/Ghallywood offers many other choices. This is not a family movie nor is it meant to be.
The story is different and it involved explicit sexuality. Rose’s father was a pig that traded her to pay his debt. He committed a crime and any real man would have done the time before selling his own child.
The Rufus character was no better. He lacked compassion and actually used Rose as a sex slave. Just when Rose finally got revenge and “happily ever after” seemed to be on the horizon, another twist in the story presented itself.
As for comments, when Michael’s (John Dumelo) mother learned of Sir Rufus’ death why did she cry? He treated her like garbage when they were younger so it made no sense for her to cry. Also, with all the murders that took place in the story, the police were never contacted.
As for performances, the acting here was fantastic. Jibola Dabo was believable as the high-powered, ruthless, sex fiend and John Dumelo nailed it as Rose’s broke but morally proud boyfriend. His frustration, heartbreak, and love for Rose was heartfelt.
Tonto Dikeh was no doubt the one to watch. She’s a fearless actress that takes risks and it’s the audience that reaps the rewards of her dynamic performances. Her character transformed from a high-spirited, hopeful, woman into a monster and Tonto played the multiple sides of this character like a champ. RECOMMEND
