Title: MY HUSBAND’S SECRET (Full Story)
AKA: WHAT MY WIFE DOESN’T KNOW (Full Story)
Starring: Jackie Appiah, James Gardiner, Toosweet Annan, Jose Tolbert, Mawuli P. Gavor, Bismark Nii Odoi, Cristabel Ekeh
Synopsis:
Four college buddies relinquished their player lifestyle for married life but had no intentions of being loyal.
Review:
Four guys lived it up during their college years and for them, women were just a conquest. Their main objective was to score – score in the bedroom and score women on a scale of one to ten. Scoring on college exams took a backseat.
A few years later, all of the men were married but they made a pact to meet every so often, wives excluded, to have extramarital affairs and reminisce on college life.
During one of their reunions, they lied to their wives about their whereabouts while they were all were experiencing marital issues. After another disagreement, Greg’s (Jose Tolbert) wife gave him a free pass to sleep with all the women he wanted. Actually, all of the guys behaved as though they had free rein that weekend.
But their work was cut out for them when their lies surfaced. The flight that Clem (James Gardiner) claimed he would be on actually crashed. While his wife thought he was dead, his lies caused a delay in announcing that he was amongst the living.
Danny’s (Toosweet Annan) wife cast a spell on him and caused him to have a permanent erection. Mike (Mawuli P. Gavor) slept with a woman who stole his briefcase and Greg (Jose Tolbert) got sick and came home to find his wife in bed with another.
Let’s Talk. This movie contained all of the silliness that I have come to expect from Venus Films. Once again, we have a movie about infidelity where cheating was the name of the game.
The story commenced on a college campus where the guys were all about fun and sex but marriage didn’t stop them from chasing skirts.
In terms of the story, it was amazing to see men risk their marriages to sleep with the easy, scantily dressed, hoochie mamas. Is a big a** all there is to life? If a man insists on risking his marriage then at least go out on top. Why ruin the lives of two people for a cheap trick?
The rapport between the guys was good. They ditched the dirt on women and their laughter was contagious. Some scenes were funny but tacky ones counteracted them. We saw erections, hairy butts, and men on the toilet – all visuals that we didn’t necessarily need to see.
Performances? The cast was made up of mostly seasoned actors, however some of the lesser-known performers obviously needed more practice. Jackie Appiah and James Gardiner teamed up once again as love interests and ttey had the best chemistry of all of the couples.
Pascal Amanfo directed and his career has become a rollercoaster. Some of his movies are good while others are not. He’s become hit or miss.
The movie’s intention was to spice up our lives with two hours of humor and although the mission was accomplished “My Husband’s Secret” wasn’t necessarily a good movie. It was Cheaters and 4Play Reloaded rolled into one and at this point the theme is a little rusty. EJECT
