Title: MY SOULMATE (1 & 2)
Sequel: END OF SOULMATE (1 & 2)
Starring: Mercy Johnson, Van Vicker, Annie Macauley
Synopsis:
A single mother gives her baby up for adoption but six years later, after an established career, attempts to find the child but faces obstacles along the way.
Review:
When Winnie (Mercy Johnson) announced she was three months pregnant her boyfriend dumped her. Due to shame of an out-of-wedlock pregnancy, she gave the baby up for adoption.
Six years later she was a successful woman but suffered enormous regret. She devised a plan to find her baby but her search had its challenges.
Let’s Talk. This is a heart wrenching story that takes the audience on a journey as Winnie (Mercy Johnson) tries to find her daughter.
In terms of the story, there was a pinch or two. 1) Seeing Fred wait outside his own bedroom for that couple to finish using it as a hotel room was utterly ridiculous. He should have thrown them out instantly. 2) It’s not clear how the detective connected Jennifer (Annie Macauley) to the identity switch. These are the only two bothersome items worth mentioning.
As far as writing, you can always count on Writer/Director, Michael Jaja for creating those “moments” that tug at your heart. For example, Winnie worked for Fred as a nanny to his daughter. When Fred (Van Vicker) and Winnie were discovering that they’re attracted to each other, Fred was watching her in the yard and every time she glanced at him, he pretended he was reading the newspaper.
Other touching moments were when Fred admitted his feelings for Winnie and the time when she met her daughter for the first time. “Soulmate” has many of these heart-thumping moments and that’s called great moviemaking.
The casting was pretty good for the most part. Regina Ojeogwu must have been the cutest little girl they could find and she was just adorable playing Sophia, Winnie’s daughter. Mercy Johnson is blessed with the acting chops and the chemistry between her and Van Vicker worked.
Angelia Okorie, who played Fred’s wife was not a good fit because she didn’t look right with Van Vicker. She towered over him and when they hugged it looked as though she was hugging her young son.
Overall, “My Soulmate” is a classic. It’s four parts long and there were some scenes that dragged but it’s well worth the ride. RECOMMEND

Hi Munashe, So sorry you can’t find it. Believe me, i know how frustrating it is. There’s a ton of movies that I couldn’t review because I couldn’t find the end. It leaves you stranded and it’s very annoying. If you’re interested in purchasing it, check with this website – http://www.africamovies.com. They have a lot of old movies still available. I’m not sure if they have it but if they do, take note that the movie comes on 2 DVD’s My Soulmate 1&2 and then End of Soulmate on the other. Also check YouTube. They have part 1 and normally when you get to the end of a movie there’s a link to watch the next part. Best of Luck. Let me know how you made out.
