Starring: Eddie Watson, Ruth Kadiri, Nancy Gabriel, Mary Elom
Synopsis:
A jealous woman’s behavior goes overboard when she believes her husband is cheating.
Review:
Regina (Ruth Kadiri) was paranoia on wheels when it came to her husband. She repeatedly called Jerry (Eddie Watson) to verify his whereabouts and if he didn’t answer the phone it meant he was fornicating.
When her friend’s husband had an affair with the maid, Regina decided to spice up her marriage. She spent quality time with Jerry but their happiness was short lived when she saw a flirtatious text on his phone sent by his secretary in error. In a jealous fit, Regina stalked the secretary and then proceeded to have her beat her up by thugs.
Soon, Regina’s possessive behavior caused a tragedy. Her marriage was beyond repair and after finally driving Jerry away she had to find a way to get him back.
Let’s Talk. This is another relationship drama that centered on an insecure woman that falsely believed her husband was cheating.
At first it wasn’t apparent why Regina thought her husband slept around and that was important information to know in order to become involved in the story. There was a quick flashback of Jerry having sex with some woman but the movie didn’t expand on the details so the sexual encounter remained a mystery.
Honestly, the story wasn’t spectacular. It was simple and left lingering questions such as why the wrongly battered secretary didn’t press charges. Maybe she didn’t want to lose her job but to be beaten in the street for nothing called for retribution.
Although Ruth Kadiri and Eddie Watson made a good couple, somehow I didn’t come to care for them. Something in the story and its structure didn’t create enough of an emotional connection with the characters.
There were subtle messages regarding trust but it wasn’t information that needed reiteration. We know that the core of any good relationship is based on trust and that marriage is a lot of work.
Performances were okay – nothing to really brag about. There was a decent rapport between the main couple but the drama lacked character development.
Basically, I got through this movie thanks to curiosity not fascination. EJECT
