Review:
“The Passion of Eve” is a story about two girlfriends who were unaware that they were dating the same men. Most of the movie was spent watching the parties involved almost get busted until everyone ends up in the same room and the truth is revealed.
Let’s Talk. As usual, Writer, Kensteve Anuka’s stories drag on forever. By part 3 of this movie, all parties involved in the love circle were still not aware of the situation.
What’s unbelievable is the fact that when the couples were actually with their love interests they would talk on their phones with their secret lovers. How disrespectful. Realistically, these calls would go unanswered until the time was right to call back. Did Greta really answer her cell phone while Joe was making love to her in bed? Really?
It’s also unfathomable that two girlfriends who are so close would never once mention the names of the men in their lives. To prove this point, when Chris and Joe met for the first time, Joe disclosed the name of his fiancé in their first conversation. There’s no way that two best friends would not know at least first name of the fiancé of the other.
The most hilarious scene in this movie was toward the end when the men in private conversation referred to the women as their dog or donkey, which lends insight to how men discuss women amongst each other.
In terms of acting, performances were on board for the most part.
When the truth was finally discovered, the movie ended instead of showing the audience the character’s explanations and how and if the couples worked things out. We don’t even know if Nick (Martha Ankomah) and Greta (Roselyn Ngissah) remained friends.
This movie wasn’t the best but in all fairness it wasn’t the worst. If you’re a Roslyn or Martha fan see it but other than that EJECT.
