Review:
This movie is about Johnson (Yul Edochie), a good-looking man with philandering ways. Two of his lovers were well-to-do, married, women and he schemed to extort money from them.
As his plot begun to dwindle, he eliminated those who were on to him, but it was just a matter of time before it was game over.
Let’s Talk. The core of the story revolves around Johnson’s affairs with Gloria (Tonto Dikeh) and Calista (Ini Edo). Both women were friends and while they secretly had affairs with him his goal was to worn his way into their pockets.
The story began going downhill when Johnson killed Stephanie’s aunt. Stepanie (Annie Macauley) was another one of Johnson’s girlfriends and her aunt was suspicious of him.
The murder was silly because even if Stephanie learned the truth about Johnson’s playboy ways he wouldn’t have lost much. He still had Gloria and Calista on his string and Stephanie was easily replaceable since womanizing appeared to be his forte.
At one point in the story Johnson kidnapped Gloria’s baby. The dialogue around this incident was questionable because as the Detective interrogated Gloria about the missing infant he told her that he would find out who she was having an affair with. Huh? Shouldn’t he have been focused on finding the missing child?
What’s also strange was when another woman, Nina (Vivian Egbon), was found dead. Instead of immediately alerting the authorities, Stephanie was called first. Also crazy was the fact that Calista still slept with Johnson even after she became aware that he killed her husband. Really?
The story defects were offset by some of the the funny scenes such as when Calista’s husband unexpectedly came home and Johnson had to hide in the closet. Also hilarious were the nonchalant looks on Calista’s face while she made love with Johnson for the last time.
Overall, the acting was well done but the story could have been better written. It also could have used subtitles when actors recited their dialogue in African dialect. Other than that it’s two thumbs up to Yul Edochie for playing the twisted character of Johnson. RECOMMEND
