Title: PRIVATE ENEMY (1– 3)
Starring: Ini Edo, Tonto Dikeh, Mike Ezuruonye, Vanessa Nzediegwu
Synopsis:
A man known to be a gold-digger finds himself in a web of chaos, secrets, and lies when he moves into his girlfriend’s home.
Review:
After the death of their father, Ese (Ini Edo), Ruke (Vanessa Nzediegwu), and Ejiro (Tonto Dikeh) tried to cope with the loss.
Brian (Mike Ezuruonye) was Ese’s boyfriend and he moved into the home to support the women during their time of bereavement.
Unbeknownst to her, Brian was a gold digger. The women in the household were about to inherit millions which was just fine for Brian. He had plans to marry Ese as long as his past didn’t catch up with him.
Soon death threats were found in the home on a daily basis. They all targeted Ruke and clearly someone wanted her out of the way. The reasons and possible suspects were exposed in increments.
Let’s Talk. This is a riveting drama capable of keeping one glued to their seat. It has all of the ingredients of a successful movie – intrigue, good direction, and fine performers.
Brian moved into the home and all of a sudden death threats were mysteriously appearing and all clues pointed to him. The movie was paced in such a way that kept the audience at attention.
There are a few comments regarding the story. 1) How come no one called the ambulance once the father was dragged out of the pool? It seems that Brian and Ese didn’t want to get their clothes wet. 2) There were some minor chronological errors made in the dialogue. 3) Speaking of dialogue, the correct pronunciation of the word “fiancé” is , it’s fee-ahn-say (rhymes with Beyonce), not fee-ance.
Despite the minor flaws, “Private Enemy” serves as the blueprint on how to make a movie. The filmmakers successfully blended drama and suspense to perfection.
As for performances, the characters were well played. Ini, Tonto, and Mike were awesome.
Video and audio were adequate. For some reason the writer of this story was not listed among the credits.
Overall, it’s a high five on this one. RECOMMEND
