Synopsis:
The roller coaster of married life is once again explored as Kimora and Jay appear to be over the honeymoon stage of their union. Is marriage really worth it?
Review:
The movie commences with Kimora (Yvonne Nelson) and Jay’s (Chris Attoh) wedding. It bypasses the honeymoon stage and jumps into the problematic phase of their marriage. As Kimora relies on her friends for moral support they seem to have issues of their own
Let’s Talk. “Single and Married” is an anticipated movie produced by Yvonne Nelson. It contains a high level of adult content and is sexually explicit at times. The movie implies that most marriages are unsuccessful due to infidelity and it jovially lays out the do’s and don’ts of a happy marriage.
In order for this movie to give marriage a fair representation, some time should have been devoted to the honeymoon stage of Kimora and Jay’s marriage and perhaps show why Jay fell into cheating as opposed to just cutting to the scenes where he’s with the side chick.
The subplots focus on Kimora’s friends that also have problematic marriages. Vida (Tana Adelana) is married to an older man who is sexually inept and Paula (Nadia Buari) is too busy with her career to find time for her husband.
Somehow, something about “Single and Married” is lackluster even with the backdrop of stunning homes and luxury cars. It shares a similar theme with Pascal Amanfo’s prior film, “4Play Reloaded” which, comes off as a better movie perhaps because of a better cast. On the upside, marriages can survive adultery and “Single & Married” displays this in an entertaining way.
As usual, Pascal Amanfo gives us a fast paced and flowing story. It’s well shot with decent acting and there are some really humorous moments. RECOMMEND
