Starring: Joseph Benjamin, Ramsey Nouah, Joke Silva, Amaka Chukwujekwu
Synopsis:
An evil spirit haunts a woman until she follows the advise of a mortician and examines her past for clues.
Review:
Although Jordan and Clara were married, they were not each other’s first choice. Jordan (Joseph Benjamin) cast aside the love of his life when his mother convinced him to marry Clara (Amaka Chukwujekwu). His mother was impressed with Clara’s integrity and business acumen. After some nudging, her wish came true and Clara became her daughter-in-law.
The problem was that Clara was engaged to another man at the time. No one knew it and she secretly disposed of her fiancé like yesterday’s news.
The story revealed that Clara really did love her ex-fiancé, Johnson (Ramsey Nouah) but according to rumors, his family was cursed. With members of his family dying young, she feared she would become a widow and that led her to marry Jordan instead.
But the marriage to Jordan wasn’t peachy. Evil spirits that only Clara could see haunted her. Her spooky visions and constant state of panic placed a dagger in the marriage and forced them to seek answers.
Meanwhile, Johnson was withering away from depression and suffered severely from Clara’s rejection. At the advise of a mortician, Clara revisited her past hoping to find the source of the demons that wouldn’t let her live in peace.
Let’s Talk. This is supposedly a thriller with some built in romance. Although the story structure was good, the story itself was frail. Here we are with another fixed marriage with some evil spirits thrown in. It wasn’t by any means scary and it took the thrill out of the word thriller.
It entailed graveyard scenes and creepy spirits but then escalated into matters of the heart. The theme called for maybe hiding under your bed but by the end I found myself thinking “aww, how special…”
In terms of the story, if Jordan were so in love with his ex-girlfriend, then why would he marry his mother’s choice? He’s a grown man for crying out loud!! If he were marrying Clara for money that would be more acceptable than marrying her because Mommy said so. Sigh…
Another issue was the dialogue. There were two instances where the characters used this line – “I didn’t think it was necessary.” Clara didn’t think it was necessary to tell Jordan’s mother that she was already engaged to another man. That wasn’t necessary? Sounds like very pertinent information to me.
Johnson “didn’t think it was necessary” to tell Clara that his brother died while trying to save his life. What? How could you call yourself sharing your life with someone and not reveal such a tragedy? Really? Maybe some appropriate lines would have been “ I couldn’t find a way to tell you” or “I wanted to tell you but…” Whatever the route, improved dialogue was certainly needed.
There’s a scene where Ramsey Nouah’s character was being shaved outside. Who does that? Who shaves outdoors?
Performances were the highlight. Ramsey Nouah, Ramsey Nouah, Ramsey Nouah. Enough said.
On another note, who’s luckier than Amaka Chukwujekwu to have both Ramsey Nouah and Joseph Benjamin as love interests? You go, girl.
As for the technical stuff, the music drowned the dialogue in a few instances which was soooo annoying. Maybe if I stop complaining about sound it will improve. Video was satisfactory although the visual effects made the movie look cheap.
Overall? It wasn’t a total bust but I wasn’t gungho about it either. EJECT

Heeyy I ordered this movie cause I like the horror/juju theme yeaa I read the review and on a slow day it’s not a bad look.
Hey JJ, you should be ok with this one. Its not one of those movies where I was dying for it to end it’s just that I thought it could have been better. Like I said it’s not a total bust but since you like this genre you may be entertained by it. Share your thoughts after you watch it. It’s perfectly fine to disagree with my review.
I have watched it already..your review is on point but like I said on my slow day I can take this one..not crazy about the ending too many things left unexplained.
Oh, ok. Got it.
Most what i read online is trash and copy paste but i think you offer something different. Keep it like this.
Thanks.
