Title: THE GROOM’S BRIDE (1 & 2)
Starring: Jackie Appiah, Majid Michel, JJ Bunny
Synopsis:
A love triangle between a man and two women that spirals out of control. While both women are in love with one man, the question of the day becomes who does a man’s heart really belong to?
Review:
This is a story of a love triangle where the heart of a man is torn between two women. Bill is engaged to Lovett (JJ Bunny), when he falls in love with Atumbe (Jackie Appiah), a village woman from Gambia. He marries Atumbe instead, breaking Lovett’s heart. Obviously a confused heart, Bill’s feelings for Lovett resurface during his marriage to Atumbe.
Let’s Talk. The most emotional moment of this movie is when Atumbe (Jackie Appaih) realizes that she doesn’t have Bill’s (Majid Michel) heart. She does an amazing thing and begs Lovett to forgive Bill for wronging her and then urges her to take him back. Clearly, Atumbe’s character is impressively bigger than the love triangle.
While some women would have held onto their husbands knowing they are not loved the way a wife should be, Atumbe was gutsy enough to end the marriage. When you think about it, why lay down next to a man every night that is thinking of another woman? Is this what women have in mind when they marry a man?
Two thumbs up to Director Frank Raja Arase for a superb cast, high production values, and quality sound in this film. RECOMMEND
