THE LAST SECRET

Title: THE LAST SECRET (1 & 2)

Starring:  Nadia Buari, Martha Ankomah, Frank Artus

Synopsis:

Mina is concerned that her fiancé has been unreachable for three weeks and is dismayed to learn the reason why.

Review:

Will and Mina are a couple that were supposedly in love but when Will disappeared for a few weeks, Mina was very concerned. Of course, her worst fears were realized, leaving her severe disappointment.

Let’s Talk. This is a love drama. Without giving the details away, the entire drama could have been avoided if Will (Frank Artus) told Mina (Nadia Buari) WHY he was breaking up with her.

Who breaks up with someone without giving an explanation? Had he confronted her with his accusations she quickly would have realized who was at the bottom of the chaos and then we could have moved on to a real story.

Furthermore, some scenes were straight-up annoying such as the one where the audience had to watch Doreen (Nana Akua Addo) try to get Mina to come out of her room for almost a minute and a half of screen time. Really? And then when Mina finally opens the door and we think we’re going to see Doreen console her, the film cuts to another scene. Why spend so much time on a scene that went nowhere? Sigh…

Writer/Director, Steve Anuka has a style of telling and directing a slow moving story and that’s what he does here. Since the audience never witnessed the good times between Will and Mina, it was difficult to empathize and root for them to get back together.

To sum it up, “The Last Secret” is a silly movie. EJECT.
