Title: THE MISTRESS (1 & 2)
Starring: Ini Edo, Enebeli Elebuwa, Jim Iyke, Patience Ozokwor, Cassandra Odita
Synopsis:
A young woman succumbs to being the mistress of an older man but problems emerge when she finds love with someone her age.
Review:
Gina (Ini Edo) was coerced into prostitution. Due to an ill father and a poor family she was in dire need of money. She thought she found the answer when her aunt promised her a job in Lagos but when she arrived she learned that the job was sleeping with men for money. She was reluctant at first but felt she had no alternative.
Her first client was the Chief (Enebeli Elebuwa). He turned out to be her only client when he learned that she was a virgin. He instantly took a liking to her and invited her to live with him. She moved into his mansion and he paid for all of her expenses in exchange for her companionship.
After a few years, Gina became weary of the relationship. She didn’t love the Chief and he treated her like a piece of property. She met Kelvin (Jim Iyke) by chance and he found her alluring. He was her age and handsome and she was impressed that he was a fashion designer on the rise.
Gina and Kelvin fell in love. It was difficult to admit to Kelvin that she was a mistress but the greater task was ending the relationship with the chief who was shamelessly possessive of her and felt entitled to her because he paid for her to live.
Let’s Talk. This is a love triangle gone badly. The movie took all of part one to set up the story and the romance between Gina and Kelvin didn’t actually start until part two.
There was a lot of back-story that presented itself while the truth about Gina’s relationship with the chief loomed over her relationship with Kelvin. Once the truth was revealed other secrets came to light that made the love between Gina and Kelvin almost impossible.
Direction sufficed however the screenplay was too long. Some scenes went on for too long such as the one where Gina and Kelvin worked out together. There was also unnecessary dialogue in others.
Performances were good. Ini Edo had the most emotional part and Enebeli Elebuwa and Jim Iyke played their roles well. There should have been a little more romance between Ini and Jim’s characters. Some of their time together was rolled into a montage and the relationship lacked those “tender moments” that invests the audience in the characters.
As for technical issues, the sound was really bad. There were some scenes that were shockingly loud while others were hard to hear. Crazy.
Overall it was a decent story with Ini Edo as the main attraction. So if you’re up for a long ride then give this movie a go. RECOMMEND

Yea she had a real best friend..one who stood by her and didn’t try and stick a knife in her back..also her best friend had to convince her boyfriend to let Gina move in with them when she left her sugardaddy (the Old man)..who is she her name?
The name of the actress is Nwakaego Mbaka. She played “Lovelyn.”
