Title: TOTALLY LOST (1 & 2)
AKA: LOST HIGHWAY (1 & 2)
Starring: Senanu Gbedawo, Rita Dominic, Nuella Njubigbo, Tony Nkem, Jr.
Synopsis:
An eligible bachelor keeps a journal of his love life as he searches for “Mrs. Right.” Somehow he just keeps meeting the wrong women.
Review:
Emeka (Senanu Gbedawo) was single and ready to mingle. The story opened up to his strained relationship with his girlfriend, Kofo (Rita Dominic). She didn’t make breakfast, she was always late, and she blabbed intimate details to her girlfriends.
Ever since she entered Emeka’s world, his life seemed to go downhill. Emeka broke up with her and the search was on for the woman of his dreams. He happened to keep a diary of his experiences and here’s the list of women that he “tested the waters” with.
Woman #1 – Kofo (Rita Dominic) – Aloof, lazy, unreliable
Woman #2 – Katharina (Jennifer Edozien) – A player
Woman #3 – Justina (Princess C. Halliday) – Control freak, clean freak
Woman #4 – Onyi (Nuella Njubigbo) – Trusting, falls too fast
Woman #5 – U.D. (Amaka Aneke) Too easy/prostitute
Yes, homeboy was busy. When he realized that woman #2 was playing him, he was on the warpath. He decided that any woman that came into his life would pay the price for his broken heart.
Woman # 5, Onyi, announced that she was pregnant. Emeka denied being the father and actually felt good about breaking her heart. After some serious soul searching, he finally chose the best woman of the lot.
Let’s Talk. This movie is not a total bust nor is it especially fantastic. Emeka is simply a decent guy looking for love. What’s humorous about the story is that the audience was able to eavesdrop on Emeka’s thoughts. He hoped each woman he met was “the one.” This is a popular thought among women so to hear a man say it was ticklish.
When Emeka broke up with one of his girlfriends, Kofo, she told him that he’d never find a better woman than her. It’s so true that some women swear they’re the best and can’t manage to see their own faults. She may have thought she was “it” but Emeka clearly thought otherwise.
The movie reiterates that love is a numbers game and that it’s all about timing. In this case Emeka was ready. It also reflected that in matters of the heart, sometimes one has to lose in order to win.
When Emeka broke up with one of the women, it took some time for him to realize that he loved her and he then rushed back to her. This created our happy ending and Emeka was able to close this chapter in his diary and start life anew.
Performances were adequate. Princess C. Halliday was the funniest of the women. As for technical issues there was poor sound in a few scenes.
Please note that movie is also known as “Lost Highway.” RECOMMEND
