Title: TRAPPED (1 & 2)
Starring: Clarion Chukwurah, Amaechi Muonagor, Uche Elendu, Prince Nwafor
Synopsis:
A mother betrays her daughter causing her to become trapped in a marriage to a man old enough to be her father.
Review:
Madam Lily (Clarion Chukwurah) was an attractive woman with two grown children. She was middle-aged, still sexually vibrant, and money hungry. She owned a bar in the village and did what she had to do to keep money rolling in.
It was rumored that Lily was sleeping with Chief Odugwo (Amaechi Muonagor). He was a middle-aged, village player, that chased every skirt, including Lily’s daughter, Amoge (Uche Elendu).
Amoge had absolutely no interest in the Chief. He was old enough to be her father and she was actually in love with his oldest son, Ezenna (Prince Nwafor). They fell for each other instantly and planned to marry.
Lily got word that her son was arrested and she desperately needed $500,000 to bail him out. Chief Odugwo gladly gave her the money but it came with a price – he wanted to marry Amoge.
On the night of Amoge’s wedding to Ezenna, a devious plan was exposed when Ezenna ran off to the city and left his wife to his father, Chief Odugwo, who appeared in her bedroom ready to consummate the marriage.
Let’s Talk. This is a story where lust and greed joined forces to obtain a desire. Chief Odugwo was consumed by lust, Lily was driven by greed, and Amoge was the prize. In exchange for money, Lily had to make sure that her daughter (Amoge) married the Chief.
The Chief used his younger son to lure Amoge but of course his son suffered remorse and he returned to the village to claim her and the movie turned into a battle between father and son.
Leave it to Chisom Juliet Okereke to write such craziness. The son comes back to town to claim the woman that he allowed his father to rape. Sigh…
As the story progressed, money, power, and greed played their parts until the story came to a place of forgiveness.
Here’s the truth; we’ve seen similar stories where young women were forced into marriages. “Steal the Bride” and Chisom Okereke’s “My Fantasy” are just two of them and quite frankly, they were better movies.
Although “Trapped” is entertaining, the number one complaint is that it was melodramatic and way too long. The story stretched into hours and actually became bland at times. It did have some humorous scenes and some of the dialogue was funny.
Speaking of funny, Dike Osinachi played “Ifeanyi” who was Chief Odugwo’s second son. This character balanced the drama with humor in that the character was sort of a wayward loser that turned out to be a little smarter than expected.
Honestly, I watched this movie to see Clarion Chukwurah. I love the sassy energy that she brings to her roles and she didn’t disappoint. Performances by the rest of the cast were pretty decent as well. Not much to complain about in this area.
The final verdict? The movie requires a bit of patience but if you’re up for a long village drama, see it. RECOMMEND

So this is a new movie eh?
Yeah, sort of.
Sort of????? I’m sort of leery of these new movies they are not bringing it like the old movies..there are 4 more movies I plan to purchase.
I said sort of because the DVDs of late are missing pertinent information such as the release date, the movie rating, etc. so I can only assume it’s a new movie. I agree that some of the older movies had better stories.
I’m looking for where to stream it online o, seen it once in Dstv, hilarious movie.
Yep, this movie was crazy but I loved Clarion Chukwura.
Ya damn right this one is a winner..found it on youtube and has been out for some time..not to worry cause this one is on point. If I could find this one it would be in my collection.
What is the actual TITLE of this movie? It is not TRAPPED as written above.
Jobiso, movies are often redistributed and renamed so it’s very possible that the movie may have another title. Since you believe the correct title isn’t “Trapped” then tell us what you think it is.
I saw it somewhere on one of the TV channels named “BE MY WIFE” – but I cannot trace the full movie anywhere.
Hey Jobiso, that’s the problem with breaking the movies into parts. It’s very frustrating. Hopefully you’ll find it. Check http://www.africamovies.com. I haven’t been to that site lately but last I checked they had a healthy selection of movies.
