Title: UNDER (1 – 4)
Starring: Tonto Dikeh, Frank Artus, Daniel K. Daniel
Synopsis:
A successful young man that is engaged to the love of his life lives in fear that a secret he’s been hiding will be exposed.
Life was great for Harry and Lizzy (Frank Artus & Tonto Dikeh). They were young, good-looking, and financially stable. As they looked forward to their upcoming nuptials, Harry was concerned about a secret he was hiding.
Let’s Talk. This is a drama. At the end of part 1, it wasn’t clear what the story was about or where it was headed. It just dragged on with unnecessary family banter and there was no sign of Tonto.
In part 2, Tonto Dikeh was incorporated into the story and her character was an arrogant, designer label loving, bitch. At this point, the story was beginning to come to fruition.
By part 3, a few years had passed and Lizzy and Harry had a daughter. Harry’s secret relationship was interfering with his marriage but the truth wasn’t out yet. As expected, in part 4, Lizzie learned the truth.
As for comments, the movie dragged on for fours parts, which was completely unnecessary. It’s an unoriginal story that spent way too much time setting it up as opposed to executing it.
The bond between Harry and Lizzy was not felt. Maybe if the writer had eliminated some of the family bonding and spent more time on the interaction between the main couple, the movie would have been better.
Harry and Lizzy were introduced to the audience as a couple who were already engaged. They constantly reminisced on how they used to be instead of the filmmakers showing us those times. The development of their relationship was a ride the audience should have been on in order to care about them.
In terms of acting, Frank Artus and Tonto Dikeh played their roles well but unfortunately, the story on a whole somehow just wasn’t engaging. EJECT
