Starring: Patsha Bay, Manie Malone, Hoji Fortuna, Diplome Amekindra
Synopsis:
A man returns to his village after a long absence and finds himself in a battle over fuel and a certain redhead.
Review:
Amidst a fuel shortage in the village of Kinshasa, Riva (Patsha Bay) returned after a ten-year absence. He arrived with a wad of money, gallons of fuel, and he was ready to party.
While he dodged an Angolan crime lord who was coincidentally missing a shipment of fuel, he was also mesmerized by a pretty woman whose intentions weren’t so pure.
Let’s Talk. This movie is simply exhilarating. It was fast paced, action packed, and didn’t disappoint. It was produced in Lingala and French but equipped with English subtitles.
Patsha Bay played Riva, a small time hustler. When he arrived in town his only agenda was money and women. The fuel he stole would take care of cash and as for women he only had eyes for Nora (Manie Malone).
Nora was a beauty and although her boyfriend was a local gangster, that didn’t hinder Riva and he fearlessly pursued her. While lust instigated a feud it was the fuel crisis that ignited the war.
As for acting, there wasn’t a hair out of place. Patsha Bay was perfectly cast as the charming bad boy and he was simply delicious. NollyGhally should seriously consider borrowing him for a few of their productions. As for Manie Malone, she defines the word seductress.
This film successfully captured the vibe of the Kinshasa Congo in a raw and inviting way. It won several 2011 African Academy Awards and also Best African Movie at the MTV awards ceremony.
“Viva Riva!” is also well-produced. It’s the corruption, violence, and eroticism that makes it a must watch movie. RECOMMEND

Hey J, they’re not Nollywood actors; they’re from the Republic of the Congo. Hot movie but old. I don’t know if it’s still available.
